Although not explicitly told or recommended to do this I now believe it necessary to include a disclaimer on this website. Keydet Life has grown greatly in popularity within the small niche market of the VMI community, having made its way through large segments of the corps and alumni, as well as some members of the commandant staff. I have recently been addressed by one member of COMMSTAFF who has made what I begrudgingly concede to be a valid point:
By drawing easily recognizable members of institute faculty and leadership and giving them dialogue in my comics I am tacitly attributing what I have said to them. Although I had thought it was self-evident enough that I did not need to clarify this I now believe it to be pertinent: All opinions and statements made in these comics, regardless of who I draw as saying them, are mine alone and in no way reflect the illustrated person in question. In hindsight I should have included this all along as I know from personal experience that rules or policies of the Institute that I had thought were clear and easily understood, were in fact not; I admit this from both having been the person frustratingly clarifying what I had thought was already crystal clear and being the person on the receiving end of this explanation. For now, Keydet Life continues. |
